萬埠礦業擬斥6.3億美元投資澳洲Centennial

1. 住友料年度盈利跌16%
日本第二大銀行預期，截至明年3月底止的盈利為49.6億美元。另一金融機構穗瑞估計，同期獲利57億美元，進賬11%。
2. 大馬擬斥20億美元建煉油廠
國營石油公司計劃在南部興建該廠。該廠房預期在2016年完成，每日煉油量為30萬桶，相當於目前該公司煉油能力的一半。

1. Sumitomo Mitsui Expects Full Year Profit to Drop 16%
Japan's 2nd largest bank estimated the earnings for FY2012 to be US$4.97 billion. Separately, Mizuho Financial forecast its net income to climb 11% to US$5.7 billion in FY2011.
2. Malaysia to Build US$20B Oil Complex
State-owned Petronas plans to develop an oil refinery and petrochemicals complex in the southern region by late 2016. The plant will have a daily capacity to process 300,000 barrels of crude oil.
3. S Korea Leaves Interest Rate at 3%
The decision by the central bank was a surprise, leaving its key interest rate unchanged for a 2nd straight month. The Bank Indonesia also maintained the key rate at 6.75%, in line with economists' expectations.
4. NTT Buys back 4.53% of Shares for US$3.5B
Its mobile phone unit also acquired the option to acquire a 2% stake in Philippine Long Distance Telephone from JG Summit for US$263M. The option must be exercised within 30 days of the shares being listed.
5. Hong Kong Stocks Jump Most in 3 Weeks
The Hang Seng Index gained 0.9% to 23,276.27, its steepest gain since April 21. The gauge advanced 0.5% for the week, its first weekly advance in 3 weeks.
6. Banpu to Invest US$630M in Centennial Coal
The biggest coal maker in Thailand plans to spend the money by 2015. The Bangkok-based company will also issue up to US$331 million bonds by Q3, half of them would be fixed-rate notes.
7. Chinese Banks' Total Asset Hit US$15.57T
The China Banking Regulatory Commission said the total assets at the end of Mar gained 18.9% from a year earlier.
8. Singapore Retail Sales Gain 7%
The annual increase excluding automobiles in Mar was up from a revised 3.2% advance in Feb. Including vehicles, total sales jumped 0.8%, which was lower than expected.
9. Pakistan Bomb Attacks Kill 80
Two explosions struck a paramilitary training center in the northwestern region, killing 80 people. Taliban claimed it carried out the suicide attacks to avenge the killing of Osama bin Laden.
10. More than 40 Hurt in China Bank Blast
The incident in northwestern Tianzhu county sparked a fire at the Agriculture Credit Cooperative in Gansu province. A former employee fired for stealing money threw a gasoline bomb inside the branch. Several people were seriously wounded.
