1. 東京電力虧損150億美元
該日本最大電力商,是因為福島核電事故而錄得巨額年度虧損。上年度,該公司獲利16.4億美元。東電社長清水正孝,已宣布為核輻射事故而辭職。
2. 現代重工首4月訂單升93%
該家南韓公司在期內的訂單值為123億美元。現代重工在4月的銷售額按年增長24%,至18.4億美元。
3. Prada下月在香港上市籌20億美元
該意大利奢侈品生產商,暫定在6月24日在港上市。Prada去年獲利4.035億美元,原先計劃在2008年上市,因市場氣氛不景而擱置。
4. 日本維持息率不變
中央銀行保持0至0.1%息率水平,以及1,220億美元購買資產計劃不變。副行長西村清彥在上一次會議上曾提議進一步放寬貨幣政策,但提案遭到否決,此次西村放棄了這一提案。

1. TEPCO Reports US$15B Loss
Tokyo Electric Power posted the net loss for FY2011, compared with a US$1.64 billion profit a year earlier. President Masataka Shimizu stepped down to take responsibility of the nuclear disaster after a Mar 11 earthquake.
2. Hyundai Heavy Jan-Apr Orders Jump 93%
The S Korean group said its orders rose to US$12.3 billion in the first 4 months of this year. Sales also advanced 24% to US$1.84 billion in Apr.
3. Prada Said to Win Approval for US$2B HK IPO
The Italian luxury goods maker set June 24 as the tentative listing date. It posted a net income of US$403.5 million last year. Prada postponed its IPO plan in 2008 because of adverse market conditions.
4. Japan Keeps Rate Unchanged near Zero
The central bank kept its rate at a range of zero to 0.1% and held the US$122 billion limit of asset purchase program. Also the bank's deputy governor dropped a proposal to expand the program.
5. CSBC Gets Evergreen US$1.03B Order
The largest shipbuilder in Taiwan will build 10 cargo ships for Evergreen, a container group. Delivery of the 8,000 twenty-foot equivalent ships was expected to start in Q3 of 2013 or earlier.
6. Thailand Exports Grow 24.6% on Year
The Apr shipment abroad was cooled from a 30.9% advance in Mar and lower than expected, as global demand cooled and Japan's strongest earthquake on record disrupted trade.
7. Jollibee to Spend US$25M in 2 Ventures
Philippines' largest restaurant operator will get a 49% stake in the venture with Viet Thai International Joint Stock Company. Jollibee also owns a 60% stake in another venture in Hong Kong.
8. S Korea Household Income Climbs for 6th Quarter
The average monthly income rose 3.5% to US$3,560 in Q1 from a year earlier, compared with a 2.4% advance in the previous 3 months, signaling the economic recovery and improvement of job market continues.
9. China to Provide Pakistan 50 Fighter Jets
An agreement was reached during Pakistani PM Yousuf Raza Gilani's 4-day trip to Beijing. The jets are known as the FC-1 Xiaolong in China, pricing at US$15 million each.
10. Thai Forces Kill 4 Islamic Militants
100 soldiers and police raided a jungle hideout and killed the militants during a gun battle. Over 4,200 people have been killed in predominantly Buddhist Thailand's 3 Muslim-dominated southern provinces since an Islamist insurgency erupted in 2004.
