1. Japan 2010 Overseas Assets Fell 5.5%
The value of net assets dropped to US$3.1 trillion at the end of last year, marking the first decline in 2 years. Japan will remain the world's largest net external asset holder for the 20th year unless China increases its holdings by more than 50%.
 
2. Li Ning Drops Most in 2 Months after Executives Quit
China's largest sportswear maker slumped as much as 6.7%, the biggest intraday drop since March 17, after the company said three senior executives had resigned recently. 
 
3. Asia Stocks Mixed as Europe Debt Woes Continue
Tokyo ended up 0.17% to 9,477.17, Hong Kong advanced 0.1% while Shanghai gave up 0.3% on concerns over China's economy and ongoing debt problem in Greece, Italy and Spain. 
 
4. Japan Economy View Unchanged in May
The government still expects the economy to grow 0.6 to 0.7% this fiscal year. But it downgraded its forecast on capital spending by 0.5 percentage points, the first time since December 2009.
 
5. Two Top China Wal-Mart Executives Resign
The company said Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer have quit exploring other opportunities. Wal-Mart didn't name replacement for the 2 senior vice-presidents. The US firm has 333 stores in China.
 
6. S Korea Short-term Overseas Debt Increases US$11.7B
The debt maturing in 1 year or less climbed to US$146.7 billion at the end of Mar. Long term external debts jumped US$10.2 billion to US$235.2 billion from a year earlier.
 
7. Changi Airport Passenger up 13.7% on Year
The Singapore airport's passenger traffic in April jumped to 3.73 million people. The increase was led by a 26% gain in travelers of low-cost airlines.
 
8. India Imposes Anti-Dumping Duty on China's Tetrafluoroethane
The government announced the duty will be effective for 5 years until Apr 2015. The duties range was between US$1.15 and US$1.41 a ton of the chemical depending on the company. Tetrafluoroethane is used as a cooling agent in refrigerators.
 
9. N Korean Leader Kim Makes New Stop on China Tour
Kim Jong-Il stopped in Nanjing city Tuesday after touring an industrial zone and browsing at a store. This is his third China visit in just over a year.
 
10. TEPCO Admits Further Reactor Meltdowns
Tokyo Electric Power Company said Tuesday it believes most of the fuel had melted at reactor 2 and 3. It means all three active reactors are believed to have experienced meltdowns.
