1. 日本物價2年多來首漲
該國政府表示,4月消費物價按年上升0.6%,是2008年12月以來首度上揚。若按月比較,日本的核心消費物價在4月份進賬0.4%。
2. 中國股市創11個月最大單周跌幅
上證綜合指數連跌7天,回落26.58,收報2,709.95。累計本周的跌幅為5.2%,是7月2日以來最大單周跌幅。
3. 南韓連續14月錄流動賬順差
4月的順差額為18.8億美元,而前一個月為14.3億美元。4月的淨資本及金融賬錄得7,000萬美元淨流出,前一個月為淨流入5.2億美元。
4. 日本兩大車廠全球4月產量減半
豐田的全球產量,在期內下跌47.8%至30.86萬輛。本田的產量急挫52.9%,而日產的跌幅則為22.4%。

執政民主黨的前幹事長小澤一郎,正考慮支持一項對首相菅直人的不信任動議,令到執政黨可能再出現權力鬥爭。菅直人已經是自2006年以來,日本第5個首相。
10. 金正日訪華行程完結
該北韓領袖在5天訪華行程完結後回到平壤,並且發表講話,表示與中國的關係牢不可破,也會繼續下去。金正日的三子、權力接班人金正恩,並沒有追隨父親訪問大陸。

1. Japan Prices Rise for 1st Time in over 2 Years
The country's Apr consumer prices climbed 0.6% from a year earlier, marking the first year-on-year increase since Dec 2008. On a monthly basis, the core consumer prices jumped 0.4%.
2. China Stocks Extend Worst Weekly Drop in 11 Months
The Shanghai Composite Index dropped for the 7th day, losing 26.58 points to close at 2,709.95. It slid 5.2% this week, the biggest weekly drop since July 2.
3. S Korea Current Account Remains Positive for 14th Month
The surplus in Apr was US$1.88 billion, compared with a revised US$1.43 billion in March. The net Apr capital and financial account moved to a net outflow of US$0.07 billion after a net inflow of US$0.52 billion in Mar.
4. Japan Auto Global Output Halves in Apr
Toyota's global output slumped 47.8% last month to 308,555 vehicles, while Honda's production dropped by 52.9% due to the Mar 11 quake and tsunami. Nissan logged a 22.4% decline.

The index in Apr dropped 7.81% from a year earlier, compared with a revised contraction of 6.69% in Mar, after the earthquake in Japan disrupted supply chains.
6. MGM China Prices IPO at US$1.97 Each
The casino joint venture between MGM Resorts and Pansy Ho, a daughter of billionaire gambling tycoon Stanley Ho, priced shares in a Hong Kong IPO at the top end of a range marketed to investors. Pansy Ho would get around US$1.5 billion of net proceeds from the offering.
7. Korea Development Bank to Complete US$150M Loan
The state-owned bank borrowed the 3-year loan and it paid interest and fees of 105 basis points more than the London interbank offered rate.
8. Sime Darby to Sell Two Fabrication Yards for US$229.4M
The Malaysian palm oil producer will sell its Teluk Ramunia fabrication yard and Pasir Gudang fabrication yard for US$97.7 million and US$131.7 million respectively.
