1. Mazda to End US Production by 2013
The Japanese carmaker will cease production in Atenza and sell the stake in its joint venture with Ford Motors. It produced 45,000 cars in US in the year ended Mar 2011. From 2013, it will sell cars made in Japan and Mexico.
 
2. MGM China Shares Rise in HK Debut
Macau casino operator jumped as much as 6% in the first day of HK trading, but it was up 1.8% at the close. The company raised US$1.5B by selling 760M shares of US$1.97 each.  
 
3. Malaysia Exports Gain 1.1% on Year
The Apr shipment aboard climbed to US$19B, after rising a revised 4.1% in Mar. Imports jumped 9.4% in Apr to US$15.5B from a year earlier. The trade surplus narrowed to US$3.65B from US$3.76B in Mar.
 
4. Japan's Itochu Spends US$284.5M in S Africa Mine
Itochu agreed to buy an 8% stake in Beales platinum mine to meet industrial demand in automotive exhaust systems. The company held 10% in the project as it brought 2% in 2010. 
 
5. India Service Expands at Slowest Pace in 20 Months
The Purchasing Managers' Index of the nation fell to 55 in May from 59.2 in April. Separately, China's services industry index rose to 54.3 in May from a previously reported 51.6 in April.
 
6. Korea Pension Fund Remains 5-Year Asset Allocation Target Unchanged
The nation's biggest investor will increase equity holdings to at least 30% of assets by the end of 2016, while bonds will account for less than 60% of them.
 
7. Asia Stocks Slid for a Second Day
The MSCI Asia Pacific Index fell 0.5%, amid signs economic recovery in the U.S. is faltering. Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average decreased 0.7% and Hong Kong Hang Seng Index sank 1.3%. 
 
8. Thailand to Sell US$1.32B Bonds
The country will sell the inflation-linked bonds for the first time from July 11 to July 13. The 10-year bonds will be offered to both retail and institutional investors.

A group of hackers claimed to get more than 1 million passwords, email addresses and other information from SonyPictures.com. Its online services have been targeted by a series of cyberattacks over the past few weeks.

President Benigno Aquino said there were up to 7 incidents that China incurred its territorial waters in less than 4 months. But Beijing insisted that the disputed area in South China Sea belongs to China.
