The oil sands company secured US$236M funding from a China Life unit, Bank of China and other strategic investors in this Mar. The IPO was expected to take place within this year.
 
2. SIA Unveils Tie-up with Virgin Australia
Singapore Airline (SIA) said the long term partnership will take effect on Aug 1 if approved by regulators. Virgin will have access to about 70 more destinations, while SIA will have access to about 30 extra routes.
 
3. Taiwan Inflation Climbs to 15 Month High
The May consumer price index gained 1.66% from a year earlier, up from a revised 1.32% in Apr. Food price increased 2.79% and the transportation and communication prices jumped 2.05%.

The program will use competitive bidding and Chinese-made panels. Each installation will cost about US$1.5M to $3M. The country plans to build 100 clean-energy projects on the continent.

The largest passenger car maker of the nation suffered production loss of 1,800 cars since the start of the strike on Sat at its factory in north region. The workers demanded recognition of a new union.
  
9. Libyan Foreign Minister Visits China
Chinese Foreign Ministry confirmed the visit this week. The trip comes after China announced last week it had reached out to the rebel forces challenging Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi.
