1. TEPCO Climbs 65% as Investors Cover Record Short-Sale
Tokyo Electric Power jumped 65% in last 2 days, when the exchange raised the collateral requirements for short sales of the stock to 50% from 30%, discouraging speculative short selling of the nuclear plant operator.
2. S Korea Jobless Rate Falls to 3.3%
The May figure was down from 3.6% in Apr and the lowest in 6 months. The number of the employed people increased by 355,000 to 24.66M last month from a year earlier.
3. Asian Market Mixed as China, India Rate Hikes
Japan Nikkei 225 stock average rose 0.2% as investors anticipated rate hikes by central banks in India and China to contain stubbornly high inflation. China and HK stock also dropped.

The Koreans have defected to South Korea by boat across the tense Yellow Sea border. It was the first such known incident since Feb when a boatload of N Koreans drifted across the Yellow Sea border.
10. Japan Finds Radiation Traces in Whales
Tokyo said the whale hunters have found traces of radioactive caesium in 2 minke whales recently harpooned off its shores in Pacific Ocean, adding that the cause may be the accident at Fukushima nuclear plant.
