1. China Signals Doubt to Meet 4% Inflation Target
Premier Wen Jiabao indicated for the first time that the country would struggle to meet its inflation target this year, as the economy is growing above 8-9% this year. Inflation climbed to a 34-month high of 5.5% in May.
 
2. Nissan Aims for 8% Global Market Share
The Japanese automaker wants to reach the target by FY2017 as part of an ambitious growth plan. Its market share in the fiscal year ended March 2011 was a record 5.8%.
 
3. Daewoo Ships Confirms US$1.85B Order
The S Korean shipbuilder said the Copenhagen-based Maersk Line exercised an option to purchase 10 container ships which can each carry 18,000 20-foot containers.

The amount was counted at the end of last year and it was the first ever audit for local governments. US$767.3B debt was held by 6,576 financing vehicles operated by the local governments.

6. Standard Chartered's S Korea Unit on Strike
The union said about 3,000 unionized workers of SC First Bank, half its employees, have joined the strike. The protest is against the management's efforts to push ahead with a performance-based pay system.

The MSCI Asia Pacific Index dropped 1.1%, after Toyota fell 2.3% and Samsung lost 2% on concern about US economy and Greece crisis. HK’s Hang Seng Index dropped 0.6%.
 
8. Neptune Orient to Charter Out 5 Container Ships
The Singaporean ship firm will lease the ships to Mitsui. The vessels can each carry 14,000 20-foot containers and will be delivered by Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries in 2013 and 2014.
