1. Asian Stocks Climb to 3-Week High
The MSCI Asia Pacific Index rose 1.2%, headed for its highest close since June 8, on speculation Greek lawmakers will pass budget cuts needed to secure international financial aid. Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average gained 1.54% and S Korea's Kospi index jumped 1.53%.
 
2. Japan Industrial Production Jumps Most in 58 Years
The 5.7% month-on-month advance in May was the 2nd gain in a row and better than expected, compared with a 1.6% increase in Apr. It was the 2nd biggest gain on record after jumping 7.9% in Mar 1953.
 
3. S Korea Pension to Spend US$6.9B in Domestic Equity
The nation's biggest investor will increase the weighting for local stocks to 19.3% of assets in 2012 from 18% this year. It will keep a 5-year target to boost equities to at least 30% of assets by the end of 2016.
 
4. Singapore Sets Capital Ratio of 6.5%
The central bank said the tier 1 ratio for local lenders will be effective from Jan 2015, which was 2 percentage points more than the "Basel III rules" announced last year.

The governor of the central bank cited higher cost of education supplies and pay hikes for state workers as major reasons for the rise. Inflation was 4.5% in May, a 13-month high.

8. Vietnam Q2 GDP Jumps 5.67% 
The annual increase was up from a 5.43% gain in Q1. The economy grew 5.57% in the first half from a revised 6.18% in the same period of 2010. The government set its growth target for 2011 at 6%.

10. Groupon Suffers Massive Security Breach in India 
The online deals giant said its Indian subsidiary, sosasta.com, has accidentally published email addresses and passwords of its 300,000 strong subscriber database and reports. Sosasta.com has asked its users to "change your password immediately".
