2. HSBC to Redeploy Some India Employees
The company told 120 employees at its India loan recovery unit last week, that they had one month to look for new jobs elsewhere in the bank or other firms.
3. Huaneng Group H1 Sales Climb 15%
China's largest power producer said its sales in first half was US$20B as its output jumped 16% to 295B kilowatt-hour during the period. The installed capacity rose 9.9% to 118.55 gigawatts.

The plant was expected to be built about 11 km from the Hamaoka nuclear power plant that was shut in May for safety. The firm said last month it was considering shifting output away from the plant.
9. US, S Korea to Stage Joint Drill on Aug
The troops of both countries will stage an annual joint exercise next month to improve their combat-readiness. The 10-day Ulchi Freedom Guardian exercise will begin on Aug 16.
