1. 日本3個月來首錄貿易順差
6月的順差額為8.97億美元,遜於預期。出口貨值按年倒退1.6%至733億美元,而進口貨值則升9.8%至724億美元。
2. 海力士第二季淨利潤跌34%
該南韓大型電腦記憶體生產商,在截至6月底止季度獲利4.48億美元,收入倒退16%至26億美元。邊際利潤率下挫15個百分點至16%。
3. 中國製造業7月錄得收縮
匯豐中國採購經理指數在7月的初值為48.9,是2010年7月以來首度低於50的擴張界線。上月的指數值為50.1。
4. 瑞穗擬斥7.6億美元入股越南商銀
日本第三大銀行的旗下分支,正洽購越南外資聯合商業銀行最多20%股權。後者是當地最大的上市銀行。
5. 新加坡調高全年通脹預測
中央銀行最新估計,今年的通脹介乎4%至5%,較原先估計高1百分點。但經濟增長預測維持5%至7%不變。
6. 浦鐵購加拿大煤礦權益

7. 泰國6月出口按年升17.6%
有關增長優於前一個月的16.8%。進口按年升幅為26.1%,5月時為33.8%。貿易順差為12.7億美元,5月份為2.775億美元。
8. 台灣連續兩年上調最低工資
當地官員表示,每月的最低工資將增加5.03%至18,780元新台幣,以應付急劇上升的通脹問題。有關法例尚待行政院正式通過。
9. 巴基斯坦炸彈襲擊釀8死傷
警方表示,一架載有國營石油公司員工的汽車在路上遭人投擲炸彈攻擊,造成3人死亡及5人受傷。暫時未有組織承認責任。

10個東盟成員國的外長聯合呼籲,要加快讓北韓放棄其核武器開發計劃的會談進程。北韓在兩年前因試射遠程火箭而遭國際抵制,而宣布退出六方會談。

1. Japan Announces First Trade Surplus in 3 Months
The nation posted a surplus of US$897 million in June, which was lower than expected. Exports dropped 1.6% from a year earlier to US$73.3 billion, while imports gained 9.8% to US$72.4 billion.
2. Hynix Q2 Profit Drops 34% on Year
The S Korean computer-chip maker posted a net income of US$451million in the 3 months ended June. Sales dropped to 16% to US$2.6 billion while operating profit margin declined 15 percentage points to 16%.
3. China Factory Sector Contracts in July
The HSBC flash purchasing managers' index fell to 48.9 in July from 50.1 in June, reaching a 28-month low. The index was last below 50 in July 2010.
4. Mizuho Said to be Closed to Buying Vietcombank Stake for US$760M
The unit of Japan's 3rd largest bank was looking for a 20% stake in Joint-Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam. Vietcombank is the biggest public listed bank in the country.
5. Singapore's Central Bank Raises Inflation Forecast
The Monetary Authority of Singapore expects the inflation to be between 4% and 5%, 1 percentage point higher than its previous forecast. It keeps the 2011 economic growth forecast of 5% to 7% unchanged.
6. Posco to Buy Canadian Coal Mine Stake
S Korea's biggest steelmaker signed a deal to buy a 20% stake in the Mount Klappan coal mine in north-west B.C. from Fortune Minerals. Both parties formed a joint venture for the project. The financial terms hasn't been disclosed.
7. Thailand Exports Jump 16.8% on Year
The exports gain in June was slower than a 17.6% increase in May. Imports rose 26.1%, compared with a 33.8% advance in the previous month. Trade surplus reached US$1.27 billion last month, up from US$277.5 million in May.
8. Taiwan Plans to Raise Minimum Wage by 5.03%
It would be the 2nd straight year to increase the minimum wage, as accelerating inflation and record home prices add pressure to narrow a widening income gap. The monthly minimum wage will be changed to US$651, pending Cabinet approval.
9. Bomb Attack Kills 3 Pakistani Oil Staff
A bomb hit a vehicle carrying employees of a national oil and gas company in the southwest region, killing 3 people and wounding 5 others. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
10. ASEAN Urges Resumption of N Korea Nuke Talks
Foreign ministers from 10 Southeast Asian nations are calling for a speedy resumption of talks aimed at convincing N Korea to abandon its nuclear weapons program. Pyongyang pulled out of the talks 2 years ago after being censured for launching a long-range rocket.
