1. 港股飆457點 升幅2個月最大
恆生指數上升2.1%,是5月31日以來最大單日升幅,主要是因為市場對歐洲債務危機的疑慮紓緩。上證綜合指數進賬0.18%。
2. 新加坡樓價連續第二季創新高
第二季的樓價升幅為2%,低於去年第四季的2.2%。當地樓價已經連續8季錄得增長,去年的漲幅達18%。
3. 中部電力斥13億美元建防波堤
該日本電廠經營商,計劃在濱岡核電廠外圍加建一條大型防波堤,以防止9級大地震引發的海嘯衝擊該電廠。

1. Hong Kong Stocks Climb Most in 2 Months
The Hang Seng Index advanced 2.1%, the largest gain since May 31, as concerns on Europe's debt crisis eased. China's Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.18%.
2. Singapore Property Prices Jump to Record High
The private residential property prices climbed 2% in Q2, slowing from a 2.2% gain in Q4. The prices has increased for 8 straight quarters after gaining 18% last year.
3. Chubu Electric Plans US$1.3B Investment for Tsunami Defenses
Japan's nuclear plant operator will build additional defense facilities at its Hamaoka nuclear plant by the end of 2012. It includes building a wall capable of withstanding tsunami resulting from a magnitude-9 earthquake.
4. Posco Q2 Profit Jumps 23% on Year
Net income of the S Korean steelmaker was US$1.3B in the 3 months ended June 30, while operating profit dropped 11% to US$1.66B. It produced 9.28 million tons in last quarter, up 11% from a year earlier.
5. Taiwan Unemployment Rate Drops in June
The seasonally adjusted rate slid slightly to 4.4% from 4.41% in May, holding below 5% for the 9th straight month. The number of unemployed people fell to 492,000 in June from 493,000 in May.
6. Banpu Expects 2011 Operating Profit to Exceed US$301M
Thailand's biggest coal producer said its net income will be lower than the US$827 million recorded last year because of the absence of extra gain. It earned US$526 million from the sales of investment last year.
7. Kia Agrees Tentative Wage Deal
S Korea's 2nd largest automaker offered a 5.17% increase in basic monthly salary, performance-based pay equivalent to 3 months of salary, US$6,700 of cash bonus and 80 shares per employee.
8. Tenaga Posts First Loss in Almost 3 Years
Malaysia's biggest electricity producer reported a net loss of US$147 million in Q3 ended May. Full-year results will be severely affected by coal prices and the acquisition of alternative fuels.
9. China Bus Blaze Kills 41
An overcrowded bus that was carrying hazardous goods caught fire in central Henen province. 5 passengers and the driver were pulled out alive from the bus. In 2009, 70,000 people died in road accidents in China according to police statistics.
10. North, South Korea to Meet Face-to-face at Forum
Pyongyang agreed to hold talks with the South on the sidelines of Asia's largest security gathering and named a new envoy to stalled disarmament talks. The talks have been stalled since 2008.
