1. Nissan Q1 Profit Falls 20.2%
The 2nd largest automaker in Japan posted a net income of US$1 billion for the 3 months ended June 30, down from US$1.37 billion a year earlier on a soaring yen and rising material costs.

The quarter-on-quarter growth rate contracted from an 1.3% increase in Q1. On an annual basis, it grew 3.4%, slowing from 4.2% in the previous quarter. The nation expects the growth for the full year to be 4.3%.
 
7. Nexans Aims for US$507M China Sales in 2013
The French cable maker hopes that with the help of production capacity increase and asset purchases, it will be able to meet the target. It expects the Chinese industrial cable market to grow 50% to US$2.32 billion by 2015.

10. China Rescues 89 Trafficked Children
The children are as young as 10 days and the oldest is only 4 years old. The authority arrested 369 suspects after uncovering 2 child trafficking gangs. Raids involving 2,600 officers were carried out on July 20 in 14 provinces in the south, east and north of the country.
