1. 美債談判成事 亞洲股市急升
美國總統奧巴馬表示,國會已達成國債上限談判,令摩根士丹利亞太指數漲1.3%。日經平均指數及香港恆生指數分別升1.3%及1%。
2. 匯控半年稅前盈利115億美元
有關盈利按年上升3.6%。該香港上市銀行的淨利潤增長35%至92.2億美元。匯控計劃2013年前再裁員25,000人。
3. 中國製造業步入收縮
匯豐中國採購經理指數在7月為49.3,前一個月為50.1,創下16個月新低,也代表製造業步入收縮。另外,中國官方採購經理指數7月數值為50.7,略低於前一個月的50.9。
4. 本田調高盈利預測18%
該日本第三大車廠預期,截至明年3月底止年度盈利為29.6億美元,原先為25.1億美元。該公司截至6月底止季度獲利4.12億美元,按年下跌88%。
5. 台塑股價創4年最大跌幅
台灣最大化工集團的股價早段跌6.9%。該公司董事長王文潮及總經理蘇后邑在7月30日凌晨廠房發生火警後請辭。
6. 南韓7月貿易順差增至34億美元
6月的順差為28億美元。7月的出口按年升27.3%至514億美元,前一個月升幅為17.1%。進口按年增加24.8%至442億美元,6月時為26.1%。
7. 日本汽車上月銷售按年跌27.6%
全國在期內售出24.1472萬輛汽車。業界龍頭豐田銷量倒退37%至10.179萬輛,日產的銷量也回落17.6%至4.181萬輛。
8. 新加坡6月貸款按年漲26.2%
有關升幅高於前一個月的20.3%,比市場預期為佳,也是12年來最大升幅。貸款增加額為3,110億美元。商業貸款按年增31.9%,是2年多以來最大。
9. 北韓希望盡早重開六方會談
平壤表示,上周到美國的訪問有建設性進展。北韓於2009年4月退出六方會談後,隨即進行第二次核試。但平壤已一再暗示願意重回談判桌,與南韓、日本、中國、俄羅斯及美國恢復對話。
10. 中國指新疆兇案與巴基斯坦有關
在新疆喀什市日前爆發5兇徒斬死6民眾事件之後,當地官方指疑犯供稱,其頭目曾在巴基斯坦受訓。新疆在周末的多宗暴力案,已造成18人喪生,逾30多人受傷。

1. Asia Stocks Jump as US Strikes Debt Deal
MSCI Asia Pacific Index climbed 1.3% after US said congressional leaders reached an agreement to raise the nation's debt ceiling. Japan's Nikkei 225 Index and HK's Hang Seng Index gained 1.3% and 1% respectively.
2. HSBC H1 Pretax Profit Climbs 3.6%
Pretax profit of HK-listed bank was US$11.5 billion in the first half of this year. Its net income jumped 36% to US$9.22 billion from a year earlier. It plans to cut additional 25,000 employees by 2013.
3. China Manufacturing Posts Slowest Pace in 16 Months
HSBC said its July Purchasing Managers' Index dropped to 49.3 from 50.1 in June, signaling a contraction in manufacturing. The official PMI was at 50.7 in July, compared with 50.9 in the previous month.
4. Honda Raises Profit Forecast to US$2.96B
The Japanese automaker previously estimated the profit for FY2012 at US$2.51 billion. Honda posted a net profit of US$412 million in the Apr-Jun period, down 88% from a year earlier.
5. Formosa Shares Drop Most in 4 Years
Taiwan's biggest oil refiner lost 6.9% in early trading after Chairman Wang Wen Chao and President Su Chi Yi resigned after a fire broke out at a plant on July 30.
6. S Korea July Exports Climb 27.3% on Year
The shipment valued US$51.4 billion last month after gaining 13.6% in June. Imports jumped 24.8% to US$44.2B from a year earlier with a surplus of US$3.4 billion, compared with US$2.8 billion a month earlier.
7. Japan Auto Sales Drop 27.6% in July
The country sold 241,472 vehicles last month. Sales at the largest automaker Toyota fell 37% to 101,790 units from a year earlier. #2 automaker Nissan sold 41,810 vehicles, down 17.6% from last year.
8. Singapore Bank Lending Jumps 26.2% in June
The annual increase was the fastest pace in 12 years and up from the 20.3% record gain in May, as loans and advances climbed to US$311 billion. Business loans gained 31.9%, the most in more than 2 years.
9. N Korea Wants Early Six-party Nuclear Talk
Pyongyang said it had constructive talks with the US last week. The communist country walked out of the negotiation in Apr 2009, but it has indicated willingness to return to the dialogue also grouping S Korea, China, Russia, Japan and the US.
10. China: Xinjiang Attack Linked to Pakistan
Beijing blamed Muslim extremists trained in Pakistan for an attack that killed 6 people in the province on Sunday. The weekend violence in Xinjiang had left 18 people dead.
