2. 大韓電訊次季盈利升3.6%
該南韓最大電訊商表示,截至6月底止季度淨利潤為4.18億美元。收入按年增加5.4%至36.4億美元,主要是受惠於客戶人數增長4.5%。
3. 埃克森美孚印尼項目料達13億美元
該家美國石油巨擘的印尼合資企業,簽訂一份7.46億美元的合約,以興建印尼石油項目的生產設施。
4. 工商銀行購阿根廷標準銀行業務
該中國內地最大銀行公布,同意以6億美元向標準銀行及2個家族購入其持有的阿根廷標準8成股權。工行另會收購一個投資基金及一個商業服務商的股權。
5. 印尼第二季經濟增長6.49%
有關年度變幅略高於首季的6.47%。中央銀行訂下今年的經濟增長預測最多為6.8%。印尼去年經濟增長6.1%。
6. 日立三菱重工合併談判傳中斷
消息人士指出,談判叫停的原因是日立希望全面合併,但三菱則傾向選擇性合併部分業務。如果兩家公司成功合併,將組成年收入1,500億美元的巨企,在全球僅次於美國通用電氣。
7. 菲律賓上月通脹升5.1%
有關按年增幅低於前一個月的5.2%,但較預期高。以2000年水平計,通脹率為4.6%,符合政府訂下的3%至5%區間。
8. 通用汽車中國銷售按年跌1.8%
該家美國最大車廠及與在中國的合資公司,上月共售出17.3萬輛汽車。另通用汽車向合資伙伴上海汽車購回在2010年2月出售的1%合資企業股權,令股權升至50%。
9. 「梅花」吹襲日本沖澠12傷
該股強勁颱風預期是近年區內最強力的,而沖澠6萬個家庭因此失去電力供應。「梅花」將吹向中國,後者已召回7,000艘漁船。
10. 英祿當選泰國首位女總理
該國國會投票,選出新一任總理人選。英祿率領的為泰黨,在7月3日大選贏得下議院500個議席的265席,令她繼哥哥他信後,出任該職位。

1. Asian Stocks Tumble after Wall Street Slide
Japan's Nikkei 225 dived 3.7% to 9,299.88. Hong Kong's Hang Seng slid 4.3% to 20,946.10. China's Shanghai Composite Index lost 2.2 % to 2,626.42, while Taiwan's Taiex dropped 5.58%.
2. KT Q2 Profit Climbs 3.6% on Year
The biggest telecom operator in S Korea posted a net income of US$418 million while revenue gained 5.7% to US$3.64 billion. Subscribers increased 4.5% to 26.27 million with a net addition of 280,000 customers.
3. Exxon's Investment on Indonesian Mine May Reach US$1.3B
The US oil giant's local unit has signed a contract with Samsung Engineering and Tripatra Engineering that worth US$746 million to build production facilities at its Banyu Urip field.
4. ICBC to Pay US$600M for Standard Bank's Argentine Stakes
China's biggest bank will purchase a 80% stake in South Africa-based Standard Bank Group's Argentina unit. ICBC bought 20% of Standard Bank for US$4.75 billion in 2008 and the two institutions have collaborated on a series of ventures.
5. Indonesia Q2 GDP Grows 6.49%
The year-on-year increase was compared with a revised 6.47% gain in the previous quarter. The central bank expects the economy to expand as much as 6.8% this year, after gaining 6.1% in 2010.
6. Hitachi-Mitsubishi Merger Talks Crumbling
Talks had stalled because Hitachi is keen to pursue a full merger while Mitsubishi Heavy prefers combining selected operations. A merger would create a US$150 billion revenue infrastructure firm second only to General Electric.
7. Philippine July Inflation Jumps 5.1%
Using 2006 as a base year, the annual consumer prices increase was down from a 5.2% increase in June. Inflation was 4.6% using the 2000 the series, in line with the central bank's 3% to 5% range.
8. GM China July Vehicle Sales Drop 1.8% on Year
The US automaker and its joint venture sold 173,398 units last month. It also decided to buy back a 1% stake in the joint venture it sold to partner SAIC Motor in Feb 2010. GM currently owns 49% of the venture.
9. Typhoon Lashes Japan, Approaches China
Typhoon Muifa caused power blackouts in more than 60,000 homes in Okinawa, leaving 12 injured. The storm was heading to China and 7,000 fishing boats had been called back to harbour.
10. Yingluck Voted as Thailand's First Female Premier
The parliament vote comes a month after Yingluck's Pheu Thai party swept the country's July 3 elections, winning an absolute majority of 265 seats in the 500-member lower house of Parliament.
