1. 美債降評級 亞洲市再大跌
日本股市倒退2.18%,而南韓股市一度下跌7%,其後收窄至3.82%。香港恆生指數倒退2.2%,而上證綜合指數回落3.8%。新加坡和台灣也分別大瀉3.7%及3.82%。黃金在香港則升至每盎司1704美元。
2. 豐田全球排名降至第三
該日本最大車廠在上半年售出370萬輛汽車,低於美國通用汽車及德國福士。後兩者分別售450萬及415萬輛汽車。
3. 中國沽售67億美元日本中長期債
6月的沽債行動,是中國近9個月來首度同時減持中期及長期日本債券。中國也淨沽售1.1億美元的日本短期票據。
4. 南韓創業板一度跌停
首爾的Kosdaq市場在1分鐘內下跌逾10%,觸發暫停買賣機制,20分鐘後指數恢復交易。Kosdaq跌停是歷來第5次。南韓在2008年10月24日美國爆發金融危機時,首次採取這項措施。
5. 馬航傳與亞航結盟
兩家公司股份周一暫停買賣。馬來西亞傳媒稱,擁有7成馬航的國營主權基金,將入股亞航,而後者大股東也會取回馬航股權。兩公司的航線將結成一線。
6. 日本經常賬順差按年減50.2%
6月的順差額只有67億美元,遜於市場預期。前一個月的順差額減幅為51.7%。貿易順差額按年減少82.7%。
7. 東方海外半年盈利急挫86%
香港最大貨櫃船運商表示,截至6月底止上半年度盈利為1.75億美元。期內處理20呎標準櫃的數量為244萬個,按年上升9.4%。
8. 邦乍石油料今年收入逾50億美元
該泰國國營煉油集團表示,有關收入是預期油價上升,加上本身產能提升後而得出。邦戶的每日煉油能力,將由目前的9萬桶增至10萬桶。

1. Asian Stocks Fall after US Debt Downgrade
Tokyo shed 2.18% and Seoul sank 3.82%. Hong Kong was 2.2% lower while Shanghai lost 3.8%. Singapore and Taiwan dropped 3.7% and 3.82% respectively. Gold hit a record US$1,704.30 an ounce in Hong Kong.
2. Toyota Global Ranking Drops to No.3
Japan's top automaker sold 3.7 million vehicles around the world in the first half of 2011, lagging behind General Motor and Volkswagen, which sold 4.5 million and 4.13 million units.
3. China Sells US$6.5B Japan Debt in June
It marked the first time China had sold medium and long term debt of Japan at the same time in 9 months. China also sold US$110 million of short term notes as the yen advanced 1.2% against the dollar.
4. S Korea Temporary Suspends Kosdaq Trading
The trading of shares on S Korea's junior Kosdaq index was temporarily halted after the index tumbled more than 10% for more than one minute, triggering automatic curbs.
5. Malaysian Airline Said to Tie-up AirAsia
Both companies suspended trading after local media reported that the biggest shareholders of the two firms would get stake from each other and they will combine their flight frequencies and destinations.
6. Japan Current Account Surplus Narrows to US$6.7B
The surplus in June was down 50.2% from a year earlier and worse than expected, following the 51.7% decline in the previous month. The trade balance fell 82.7% on year.
7. Orient Oversea H1 Profit Slumps 86%
Net income of the biggest container line in Hong Kong was US$175 million in the 6 months ended June 30. It handled 2.44 million 20-foot containers in the period, up 9.4% from a year earlier.
8. Bangchak Expects Revenue to Hit US$5.04B
Thailand's state-owned refiner set a higher revenue target this year because of higher oil prices and crude processing capacity. Bangchak's capacity will increase to 100,000 barrels per day in the second half from 90,000 barrels currently.
9. Waves from Storm Threaten Chinese Chemical Plant
Waves as high as 20 meters broke a dike in northeastern city Dalian, and it threatened to hit the compound of Fujiahua chemical plant that has toxic chemicals. The waves were caused by Tropical Storm Muifa.
10. Malaysia Landslide Kills 7 Villagers
Local police said hundreds of searchers used tracker dogs to execute 8-hour rescue missions, finally found 2 survivors and recovered 7 bodies near the Cameron Highlands hill resort. Dozens of families were evacuated.
