1. 美國數據利好亞洲市
消費開支數據優於預期，以致日本日經平均指數漲1.1%。香港恆生指數及上證綜合指數，則分別漲1.7%及跌0.4%。
2. 日本失業率升至4.7%
7月的數值較前一個月高出0.1百分點，但優於預期。另日本7月家庭開支，實質按年下跌2.1%至3,642美元。
3. 新浪斥6,640萬美元購9.05%土豆
該中國瀏覽人數第三高的網站表示，在網上影片公司土豆上市時，以及在公開市場吸納有關股份。土豆在8月17日招股上市，集資1.74億美元。
4. 南韓製造業信心錄21個月新低
9月的指數值跌至86，前一個月為91。這也是2009年12月以最低水平。非製造業信心指數與8月時相同，為83。
5. 日本7月零售額增至1,535億美元
全國的銷售額按年上升0.7%，遜於前一個月的1.2%。如果按月計，銷售額下跌0.3%，較市場預期差。
6. 泰國第三季經濟料增3.2%
該國財政部長認為，增長勢頭受到汽車及電子業所帶動。他又估計，下月的通脹率可能下降0.5百分點。
7. 浦鐵擬提高鎳年產量至5.4萬噸
南韓最大鋼鐵廠表示，旗下鎳合營將投放4.48億美元擴充產能，把目前年產量3萬噸，到2015年增至5.4萬噸。
8. 印度上季經濟增長7.7%
有關按年增幅較前一季的7.8%略低。建築產值上升1.2%，農業產值進賬3.9%，製造業產值更上漲7.2%。
9. 中國礦難19礦工獲救
位於黑龍江的煤礦場在上周二發生水浸，導致26礦工被困。當局在上周六救出3人及發現1死者後，周二再救出19人。3人仍失蹤。
10. 野田接任日本首相
國會順利通過由民主黨黨領野田佳彥，出任新首相。他誓言打擊日圓升勢及通縮問題。較早時，上相首相菅直人率領內閣總辭，然後由野田的新班子上場。

1. Asian Stocks Rise on US Data
Japan's Nikkei gained 1.1% on strong U.S. consumer spending data. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index climbed 1.7% to 20,204.17. China's Shanghai Composite Index dropped 0.4% to 2,566.59.
2. Japan Unemployment Rate Jumps to 4.7%
The seasonally adjusted rate in July was up from 4.6% in June and higher than expected. Separately, average spending by Japanese households fell a real 2.1% in July from a year earlier to US$3,642.
3. Sina Acquires 9.05% Stake in Tudou
The 3rd most popular website in China paid US$66.4 million for the stake at the IPO and in the open market. Tudou, a online video company, dropped 11% since it raised US$174 million through IPO on Aug 17.
4. S Korea Manufacturer Outlook Drops to 21-month Low
The Sep index fell to 86, compared with 91 in Aug. It was the lowest level since Dec 2009. A measure of expectations at non-manufacturing companies was unchanged from Aug at 83.
5. Japan Retail Sales Gain to US$153.5B
Sales in July jumped 0.7% from a year earlier last month, compared with an upward revised 1.2% gain in June. On a monthly basis, sales were down 0.3%, missing the forecast.
6. Thai Economy Expected to Grow 3.2% in Q3
The Finance Ministry said the growth was boosted by strong demand for automobiles and electronics. He also estimated the inflation would fall by 0.5 percentage points next month.
7. Posco to Increase Nickel Refining Capacity to 54,000 Tons
South Korea's largest steelmaker plans to enhance the annual output by 2015 from 30,000 tons currently, as its nickel joint venture will spend US$448 million to expand the unit.
8. India Economy Grows 7.7% Last Quarter
The annual increase was compared with a 7.8% gain in the previous quarter. Construction output rose 1.2% in the 3 months. Farm output was up 3.9% while manufacturing increased 7.2%.
9. 19 Chinese Miners Rescued, 3 Missing
26 miners were trapped underground since Aug 23 in northeastern Heilongjiang province. The rescuers saved 3 miners last Saturday and found 1 body. 19 were pulled out alive on Tuesday.
10. Japan Confirms Noda as New PM
54-year-old former Finance Minister Yoshihiko Noda was confirmed by the parliament after the cabinet resigned. Noda insists to tackle the problem with the yen's appreciation and with deflation.
