1. Chinese Firms to Buy Brazilian Miner Stake for US$1.95B
The Chinese consortium acquired a 15% stake in CBMM, the worlds biggest producer of niobium. The group was formed by Baosteel, CITIC and Taiyuan.
2. Doosan, Posco to Build US$235.5M Offshore Wind Farm
Doosan Heavy, a unit of Korea Electric Power Corp, and Posco will build a 60-megawatt offshore wind farm in S Korea. The farm may be completed by June, 2014.
3. HK Stocks Fall Ahead of US Job Data
The Hang Seng Index dropped 1.8% to 20,212.91, ahead of a report that may show U.S. employment growth has slowed. Li & Fung Ltd, a supplier of Wal-Mart, slumped 6.7%.
4. India Manufacturing Expands at Slowest Pace in 29 Months
The Aug Purchasing Managers' index dropped to 52.6 from 53.6 in July, signaling an economic slowdown. It also indicates interest rate increases are curbing consumer demand.

The Hong Kong clothing retailer fell as much as 11%, as it expects the net income for the fiscal year ended June 30 to drop due to unspecified store restructuring costs.

A Hong Kong District Court has acquitted TVB's general manager, Stephen Chan, of bribery and fraud charges. Two co-defendants, a former personal assistant of Chan, and a TVB marketing executive, were also acquitted.
