1. Asia Stocks Rebound on Hope of Europe Debt Plan
Japan's Nikkei 225 jumped 2.8% as European officials pledged to resolve the region's debt problems. S Korea's Kospi rose 5% and Hong Kong's Hang Seng gained 4.2%.
 
2. S Korea Consumer Confidence Stays at Lowest since March
The sentiment index was 99 in Sep, same as the figure in the previous month. The expected inflation rate over next year is 4.3%, higher than last month's 4.2%.
 
3. Universal Entertainment to Invest US$2.3B in Manila Casino
The Japanese pachinko company plans to open a US$1.6 billion casino resort in the Philippine capital by Dec 2013. It also spent US$350 million to develop another residential project in the city. The firm owns a 19.7% stake in Wynn Resort.

The annual increase was down from a 9.3% advance in July. Overseas shipments totaled US$40 billion. Imports climbed 14.1% from a year earlier, leaving a trade deficit of US$4.48 billion.
 
8. Indonesia to Halt Tin Exports to Support Prices
The country said overseas shipments will be suspended since Oct 1 and will be resumed if the price goes up to US$25,000 per ton. Tin futures price jumped as much as 3.1% in early trading session.
 
9. China Train Collision Leaves at Least 40 Injured
One of the trains on Shanghai Metro system has crashed into the rear of another train. Media reports said at least 50 people have been hurt and more than 500 passengers were evaluated.
