1. 日本向大型銀行提供430億美元信貸
當地三大銀行已得到日本國際合作銀行提供有關資金,以協助本土企業收購海外資產,應對近期圓匯升勢。
2. 南韓外儲跌幅3年最大
中央銀行公布,受到歐元及英鎊兌美元匯價貶值拖累,9月底的外匯儲備為3,033.8億美元,按月減少88.1億美元,是2008年11月以來最大跌幅。

8. 泰國下調白米收割預測至2,270萬噸
政府原先估計白米豐收產量為2,580萬噸,但是近期的水災,可能導致該國損失307萬噸白米,以致須降低預測值。
9. 貴州礦難死亡人數增至17人
周二發生的貴州省荔波縣煤礦事故,初期受害人數為13人。3礦工其後在醫院不治。當局其後再發現1人屍體。11人獲救,現在醫院接受治理。
10. 南韓促北京勿遣返北韓難民
首爾呼籲中國政府,不要把35個上周逃至多個中國城市的北韓人遣返。另一方面,9個早前坐船偷渡往日本的北韓難民,已抵達仁川,準備在南韓定居。

1. JBIC Offers US$43B Credit to Megabanks for Purchase Abroad
To counter the appreciation of yen, the Japan Bank of International Cooperation will provide the funding for the nation's 3 largest banks to help finance Japanese firms acquisition abroad.
2. S Korea Reserve Drops Most in 3 Years
The foreign reserve of the nation was down US$8.81 billion to US$303.38 billion in the end of Sep, the sharpest monthly decline since Nov 2008. The central bank attributed to the weakness of the euro and the British pound against the US dollar.
3. Asia Markets Mixed after Wall St Rally
As investors remained skeptical about the debt crisis of Europe, Tokyo fell 0.86% to 8,382.98, Seoul lost 2.33% to close at 1,666.52. Taipei shed 0.83% to 6,989.15. Singapore was flat.
4. India Fund Assets Drop 4%
Assets fell to US$146 billion in the quarter ended Sep 30, down from US$152 billion, reversing two quarters of inflow. Half of the money managers said their assets declined last quarter.
5. Honda to Slash Exports by Half on High Yen
The president of the Japanese automaker announced a plan to reduce its exports to 10% to 20% over the next decade. Honda currently exports 30% to 40% of its domestic production.
6. Philippines Inflation Rises to 4.8% on Year
The consumer prices in September rose from 4.7% in August. Transportation cost gained 7.1% last month. Fuel, electricity and water prices jumped 5.7% from a year earlier.
7. Foreign Investors Sell US$94M Malaysian Stocks in Sep
It was the 2nd month in a row overseas funds unloaded their Malaysian shares. Foreign investors sold US$1.2 billion of equities in August, the most since October 2009.
8. 3.07M Tons of Thai Rice Crops May be Damaged by Floods
The world's largest rice exporter reduced its main harvest to 22.7 million tons. Earlier, the government forecast production of unmilled rice from the main harvest at 25.8 million tons.
9. Death Toll Rises to 17 in China Coal Mine Blast
28 miners were in the shaft when the blast occurred Tuesday in Guizhou province. Initial reports said 13 miners had died. 11 were rescued and being treated in a hospital.
10. Seoul Urges China Not to Repatriate Refugees
Foreign Minister of S Korea requested China not to repatriate a group of 35 N Korean refugees rounded up by Beijing last week. Separately, 9 N Koreans who travelled to Japanese waters in a small wooden boat in a rare seaborne defection arrived in Incheon to settle in S Korea.
