1. 歐債危機有望解決 亞洲股市反彈
市場傳聞歐洲領袖將共同解決債務問題,令到香港恆生指數更狂飆922點或5.7%,創兩年來單日最大升幅,南韓首爾指數也進賬2.6%。日本日經平均指數也上升1.7%。
2. 中信證券首日香港掛牌跌逾10%
中國最大證券集團在香港掛牌首日,股價一度跌至11.9港元,較招股價13.3港元低逾10%。該公司招股集資17億美元。
3. 南韓大型百貨店9月銷售漲3.8%
折扣店的銷售則在同期按年倒退1.4%。兩者的表現均是今年2月以來最差的,顯示全球金融危機對零售業的衝擊。
4. 日本Miraca斥7.25億美元購美企
該家藥廠同意,買入德州企業Caris的解剖病理業務,作為擴展美國市場的重要步驟。
5. 暹羅商銀料今年貸款增15至18%
泰國大型銀行集團又表示,第四季的貸款增長,受到全球經濟下滑打擊而放緩。今年首8月,其貸款組合按年上升22%。
6. 菲律賓擬引進交易所基金
該國證券交易所希望,此舉可以推動股票交投量上升。菲律賓的股票市值為1,420億美元,是亞洲5個最小的市場之一。
7. 豐田指全球生產已回復正常
日本最大車廠因為其配件生產商,被3月大地震及海嘯衝擊,以致生產過去半年未能保持正常水平。豐田較早前表示,本土8月份汽車生產增加18%,達25.2萬輛。

該泰國最大市值公司,已委任7家銀行作為銷售代理行。首批債券是給予今年到期的債券持有人認購,但是第二批給予其他債券持有人認購。
9. 台灣前總統李登輝本月出庭應訊
在1988年至2000年間出任總統的李登輝,今年6月被控從一項秘密外交經費中侵佔779萬美元。檢方說,李登輝和一個助手把款項轉入一個由李擔任榮譽董事長的研究機構名下。
10. 旅團北京遇車禍 3港人死
下午1時左右,當時一康泰旅行團正遊覽居庸關長城,團員下車步入餐館午飯之際,停車場一輛旅遊巴突然失控從斜路頂溜前,撞倒2女1男團員,3人當場死亡,另一導遊及一個餐廳員工受傷。

1. Asia Stocks Rebound on Hopes for Bank Support Steps
Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index gained 5.7%, the biggest 1-day gain for more than 2 years, as expectations grew policymakers would take steps to support European banks. Japan's Nikkei 225 climbed 1.7% and S Korea's KOSPI jumped 2.6%.
2. Citic Sec Drops as Much as 10% in HK Debut
CITIC Securities fell to as low as US$1.53, down more than 10% from its IPO price US$1.71. The largest brokerage house in China raised US$1.7 billion from the share sales.
3. S Korea September Retail Sales Worst in 7 Months
Sales at department stores run by the top 3 companies in the sector rose 5.8% in September from a year earlier while sales at discount stores fell 1.4%. Both marked the worst performance since February this year.
4. Miraca to Buy Caris Life's Unit for US$725M
The Japanese drug-maker agreed to purchase Texas-based Caris Life Sciences's anatomic pathology business, also known as CDx. Miraca said the move will substantially expand its footprint in the U.S. laboratory testing market.
5. Siam Commercial Maintains 2011 Loan Growth Target of 15-18%
The Thailand lender said its loan growth in Q4 will slow due to the global economic downturn. Its loan portfolio jumped 22% in the first 8 months in 2011 from a year earlier.
6. Philippine Exchange Plans ETFs to Boost Trading
The bourse introduced exchange-traded funds and securities to lure overseas investors. The market has a market capitalization of US$142 billion as of Monday.
7. Toyota Sep Production Back to Pre-disaster Levels
The top Japanese automaker's parts suppliers were damaged by the Mar earthquake and tsunami, leading to a big loss in output in the past few months. Toyota also announced earlier its domestic production rose in August by 12% to 252,374 units.
8. PTT Said to Sell US$642.5M Bonds
Thailand's largest company has hired 7 banks to help arrange the bond sales. The 1st part of the proposed bond sales will be open to existing holders of notes expiring this year. The 2nd part will be open to the remaining bondholders.
9. Taiwan's Ex-leader Lee to Stand Trial This Month
Former President Lee Teng Hui, accused of embezzling US$7.79 million from the government's diplomatic slush funds while in office between 1988 and 2000, will be at a district court on Oct 21.
10. Three HK Tourists Killed near Great Wall
The Hong Kong tourists have died in a freak traffic accident in the outskirts of Beijing. They were struck by an empty coach that rolled down a small, steep slope right outside the entrance to a restaurant near the Great Wall.
