1. Asia Stocks Rise, Led by Chinese Lenders 
Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index jumped 2.43% while Japan's Nikkei gained 1.95%. China's Shanghai Composite INdex climbed 0.16% after the country's sovereign wealth fund began aquiring shares of the 4 biggest national banks. 
 
2. HSBC Sees Asia Trade Doubling to US$14T by 2025
The projected value implied a 96% gain from current level, which equals to a 4.8% annual year-on-year growth compared with a 3.8% increase for global trade. 
 
3. Hana to Renegotiate KEB Deal
The S Korean giant agreed to buy Korea Exchange Bank for US$4.1 billion from US fund Lone Star, but the deal was held due to legal uncertainties. Hana may cut the agreed price.
 
4. China Signs US$7B Deal with Russia
The Foreign Ministry of China said the two countries had signed 16 economic and trade agreements, a day before Russian PM Vladimir Putin travels to Beijing. 
 
5. Japan Current Account Surplus Narrows to US$5.3B 
The surplus in August fell 64.3% from a year earlier, marking the 6th monthly decline in a row. Exports jumped 4% year-on-year in that period, but imports climbed 22.4% due to higher oil prices.
 
6. Singapore Airlines to Add 4 Boeing 777 Jets
The carrier said the planes will begin flying on Apr 1 2012. Singapore Airlines plans to expand its fleet to 14 Boeing 777-200 and 777-200ER planes in 2016.

The country's financial ministry said the US$1.2 billion loan has been on hold as there was corruption allegation during the bidding process of the US$2.9 billion bridge project.

9. Myanmar Gives Amnesty to 6,300 Prisoners
The government announced that new President Thein Sein has granted the amnesty and the release will began as soon as Wednesday. But it didn't specify how many political prisoners will be released.

Officials say the 4 schoolchildren have drowned and another is missing after they were swept by a rampaging river in Barotac Viejo town in Iloilo province amid pounding rains.
