1. 中國9月貿易順差145億美元
上月順差低於前一個月的178億美元。9月的出口貨值增長17.1%,8月為24.5%。同月的進口貨值按年增20.9%,前一個月為30.2%。
2. 歐債危機紓緩 亞洲股市攀升
歐洲領袖誓言處理好債務,刺激日本日經平均指數進賬1%。香港恆生指數漲2.3%,連續6個交易日上升。南韓首爾綜合指數也錄得0.8%升幅。
3. 新力全球回收160萬LCD電視
該日本電器商表示,該批40吋Bravia液晶電視的配件出現問題,可能引起冒煙甚至火警,其中40萬部是在北美售出,60萬部在歐洲,19萬部在日本。新力會全面檢查及維修有關產品。
4. 香港百萬美元富豪年增33%

7. IMF降亞洲經濟預測
國際貨幣基金組織因應近期歐美經濟前景不明朗,調低今明兩年亞洲經濟增長至6.3%及6.7%。兩者在本年4月的預測均為7%。
8. 日本銀行9月放款額按年跌0.3%
中央銀行表示,9月底貸款額為5.1萬億美元。包括信託公司的銀行貸款,則按年增0.3%至5.9萬億美元,前一個月的變幅為下跌0.5%。

國際知名的英國期刊《藝術觀察》選出該個中國維權藝術家,為100個最有影響力藝術家之首。艾未未今年較早時被中國政府拘留81日而名聞中外。

1. China Trade Surplus Narrows to US$14.5B
The surplus in September was down from US$17.7 billion in August. Exports grew 17.1%, down from a 24.5% gain in August. Imports jumped 20.9%, compared with a 30.2% increase in August.
2. Asia Stocks Climb as Europe Crisis Eases
Japan's Nikkei 225 jumped 1% after Europe leaders vowed to deal with debt crisis. Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index gained 2.3%, extending its winning streak to 6 days, while S Korea's Kospi rose %.
3. Sony Recalls 1.6M Bravia LCD TV
The Japanese giant said the Bravia flat-panel TVs have defective parts that may overheat and at times ignite inside the set. Sony will repair the Bravia sets worldwide, including 400,000 units in N America, 600,000 in Europe and 189,000 in Japan.
4. Number of HK US-Dollar Millionaires up 33%
There were 101,000 wealthy individuals in the territory last year. Their combined wealth jumped 35% to US$511 billion. The number of millionaires in mainland China grew 12% to 535,000 and accounted for US$2.7 trillion in wealth.
5. IMF Cuts Asian Growth Forecasts
The International Monetary Fund expects the GDP to grow 6.3% in 2011 and 6.7% in 2012, down from the 7% estimated in Apr for both years due to the Europe debt crisis and a slowdown of the US economy.
6. India Exports Gain 36%
Overseas shipments totaled US$24.6 billion in September, while imports grew 17% from a year earlier to US$34.6 billion, leading to a trade deficit of US$10 billion, down from US$14.1 billion in the previous month.
7. Japan Bank Lending Drops 0.3%
The year-on-year decline in September was better than expected. Bank lending in Japan totaled US$5.1 trillion. Lending including trusts also eased an annual 0.3% to US$5.9T after falling 0.5% in the previous month.
8. S Korea Leaves Key Rate at 3.25%
The central bank kept the rate for a 4th month as inflation eased. Its consumer price index slowed to 4.3% in September, down from 5.3% in August.
9. China Slams Art Magazine for Honoring Ai Weiwei
Beijing criticized ArtReview, a U.K.-based contemporary art magazine, for naming the dissident Chinese artist as the art world's most powerful figure, saying the selection based on "political bias" runs contrary to the magazine's principles. Ai, whose 81-day detention earlier this year caused an international outcry.
10. Indonesia's Bali Rattled by Quake
The popular resort island was hit by a 6.1-magnitude earthquake, sending people fleeing from their homes and hotels in panic. No tsunami alert was issued, but at least 50 people were injured.
